Obsession, we’ve all gone bonkers

For a while now that the word obsession and it’s other forms are being used on a daily basis to describe how much something is enjoyed. The definition by Collins Dictionary is:

a persistent idea or impulse that continually forces its way into consciousness, often associated with anxiety and mentalillness

a persistent preoccupation, idea, or feeling

the act of obsessing or the state of being obsessed

If before, the idea of being obsessed with something didn’t sit right with me, after looking up in the dictionary it sat even worse.

I get it, people want to get their message across but using words like obsession, love, adore, etc seems a bit too much, don’t get me wrong I’m guilty of the occasional “I love…” but on a regular basis sounds lazy, at least that’s my opinion. If instead of obsessed people gave a more info on why they like something so much, they would engage my attention, curiosity, and sound like they actually have an opinion.

Share the love

Don’t let preoccupation steel your day

Don’t obsess over stuff

Have a great day

Lots of love
