Today I heard “if you don’t know what makes you happy, how can someone else know how to make you happy?”
Sometimes it’s not that you don’t know what makes you happy, you just don’t recognise it when you experience it maybe it’s like you know what makes you happy, you just don’t pay any attention, you don’t work on it, it’s just there and you know it exists.
I know that a nice walk holding hands for example makes me happy, I just don’t act on it, don’t propose it as something to do, I expect the other person to find that out and ask me, I don’t do it myself , I don’t say let’s go for a walk, stuff like that, I just don’t do it.
At the end of the day I do know what makes me happy, holding hands, puppies, any puppy, young or old really, all dogs in general, movie marathons fuelled with sweets, a sunny day, in fact a cold sunny day, the sea, the sea makes me the happiest, going to the beach makes me happy, I love it, fitting in those jeans, although it doesn’t go hand in hand with the sweets of the movie marathon but still.
I just forget to recognise it, act on it, to share it with the world around me, if I don’t do the things that make me happy and share them with those around me how are others to know?
When it comes to happiness we crave it but don’t pay much attention to it, I just expect it to come to me, and sometimes it does, you can have a happy out of the blue moment and you can give some much meaning to that moment when we had all these potential moments around us that we didn’t even looked at them twice, and can you imagine how many happier moments could we have if we did something about it?
Lots of love
