Basic Granola


As promised, my basic vegan granola recipe:

Pre-heat oven to 175C

4 cups of rolled oats

1 cup roughly chopped nuts

1 cup maple syrup, you can substitute with agave or any other plant based syrup

1/4 cup of seeds, I mix sunflower and pumpkin

1 tbsp of ground cinnamon (optional)

Pinch of salt (optional)

Add all the above ingredients in a bowl and mix well so the syrup covers everything and forms the granola clusters.

Place the mix in a tray linned with parchment paper and into the oven for 20 minutes turning half way.

Let it cool and store in an airtight jar.

You can add 1 cup of dried fruits of your choice when the granola has cooled or freshly chopped fruit in the morning.
